The click
A shopper clicks a recommendation on the zero-result page. That click starts the chain.
The stamp
The click writes a stamp to the cart, naming the clicked product.
The checkout
The stamp travels with the cart through checkout. It is part of the order, not a cookie.
The attribution
Valid stamp, clicked product on the order, click within 24 hours. The merchant sees the full chain.
The rules, exactly.
- A valid stamp is required. It is written to the cart when a recommendation is clicked.
- The clicked product must be on the order. A stamp for one product never credits another.
- The click must be within 24 hours. Older stamps do not count.
- No stamp, no credit. Nothing else is counted, inferred, or modeled.
Built-in search is fine. Until it isn’t.
