Privacy policy

Salvage is built by CommerixHQ, an independent product studio for commerce. This policy explains what data the Salvage app collects and how it is handled.

Your product catalogue: titles, prices, and availability, so recommendations match real products.

Search events: the search terms shoppers type that return no results.

Rescue clicks: when a shopper clicks a Salvage recommendation.

Attributed orders: order IDs, line items, and amounts for orders placed after a rescue click, within your attribution window.

Session identifiers: hashed values that link a click to a later order. They cannot be reversed into a person.

We do not collect customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, or shipping addresses. Salvage has no way to identify an individual shopper.

Data is used only to show recommendations and to report recovered orders and revenue in your dashboard. We do not sell data. We do not use it for advertising.

Product text is sent to OpenAI to generate search embeddings. OpenAI processes this data on our behalf. API data sent to OpenAI is not used to train their models.

Catalogue and event data is kept while your shop has Salvage installed. It is deleted when you uninstall the app or when you ask us to delete it.

When Shopify sends a data request or erasure request for your shop, we comply. Our shop/redact handler deletes every row tied to your shop: products, search events, rescue clicks, attributed orders, suggestions, and settings. Customer erasure requests are acknowledged with nothing to delete, because we hold no customer personal data.
